The Virtual Patrol Story

The idea for Virtual Patrol was born from a simple but profound realization: the most critical moments of risk in correctional facilities often go unnoticed until it is too late. With increasing incidents and limited staff, our founders—AI experts and current corrections professionals—saw an opportunity to transform a passive tool, the security camera, into a proactive partner.

Virtual Patrol Technologies was created to fill this gap. Instead of just recording incidents, our Virtual Officers actively detect risk behaviors such as self-harm, assaults, contraband use, and fire hazards. The system acts as a force multiplier, not a replacement—supporting correctional officers, easing staffing shortages, and providing audit-ready compliance tools.

We built Virtual Patrol to protect the most vulnerable, support overworked staff, and bring a new level of safety and accountability to one of society’s most essential public services.
